About Us

Experience You Can Count On

In these unpredictable political times, businesses, associations, organizations and local units of government should be prepared to influence the legislative process. Legislation at the Capitol can change on a moment’s notice and could negatively impact your business or organization if you are not prepared.

We can prevent the surprise factor by closely monitoring your issues at the State Capitol. Often, lawmakers do not fully understand the impact of their actions on a particular issue. TGE Consulting is positioned to respond to such actions for your organization.

Unlike larger firms, we keep our client list small to ensure your issues are not lost in the shuffle. we strive to achieve success through honest lobbying. Relationships matter at the Capitol, and we are constantly working to build and maintain trust with leadership, legislative staff, and state government employees.

Why choose us?

TGE Consulting has been building relationships at the Minnesota state legislature since 2006, and was founded with the intention to work in a bipartisan manner with elected officials to ensure sound public policy. We provide lobbying services, strategic planning, message development, and media relations to our clients.

With our political and policy background, we are strongly equipped to take on your issues and represent you at the legislature.

Our Team

Tara Erickson

Growing up on the civically active Iron Range, Tara realized at a young age that being involved in local government wasn’t just important, it was necessary. She watched the iron ore mines shutter and lay off thousands of workers in the 1980's and was interested in how politics and public policy shaped decisions impacting her community.

After graduating from Saint Cloud State University with degrees in political science and journalism, she started at the capitol as an assistant journalist with KARE 11 news during the 2000 legislative session.  However, as exciting as it was to be embedded with the Capitol press corps during Governor Jesse Ventura's administration, she soon switched gears because her interest in shaping public policy outweighed the desire to write about it.

Since 2002, she has lobbied on various issues including health care, labor, shopping centers and business. Her hard work has made her a known player at the capitol and has earned her the respect of other lobbyists, staff and lawmakers. In 2006, Tara started TGE Consulting and has continually grown her client base focusing on health care issues.

She also serves on the YMCA's Youth in Government board and volunteers for a number of organizations, including Toys for Tots and is active in the Minnesota Governmental Relations Council (MGRC) - the professional association for public affairs professionals in Minnesota.

In her spare time, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys, cooking, hiking with Rudy Roo the wonder dog, watching sunsets at the cabin and reading a good book when she has time.
